A Toolkit for Financial Literacy? It's here!

The increasing number of people facing financial difficulties is rising across Europe. The lack of tools, insight, or simply communication around the question "What is your relationship with money?" is being addressed too little.

Financial literacy is crucial

Financial literacy is absolutely crucial because it equips young people in particular with the knowledge and skills to make informed and effective financial decisions. Understanding basic financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management can significantly impact one's ability to achieve financial stability and independence. With good financial literacy, young people (and a broader audience) can better navigate the complexities of modern financial systems, avoid common pitfalls like excessive debt, and plan for long-term goals such as retirement. Additionally, financially literate youth are better able to contribute to the overall economic health of their communities, promoting broader economic stability and growth.

Toolkit for financial education and awareness

The Emotional Finance project (Erasmus+ Project No. 2023-2-IT01-KA210-VET-000175174) addresses this by offering a toolkit for teachers, trainers, and consultants engaged with this theme.

The toolkit contains the following seven modules:

  1. Emotional Intelligence in Financial Education
  2. Euro Engagement & Young People
  3. Navigate Social Media for Financial Education
  4. Sustainable Money Management
  5. Budget Management
  6. Planning for the (un)expected
  7. Smart Savings and Investments

The toolkit can be used in a group setting, bilaterally, and also for self-study. In addition to the toolkit, there are twelve "training pills" available on our social media channels, each of which explains the themes in bite-sized chunks.
