Handmade Treasures: Kutnu Documentary screening was held

In every thread of this precious legacy, shaped by the hands of our masters, lies devotion—and in every weave, a piece of history is preserved.
A Legacy Woven Through Centuries: Kutnu Fabric among Anatolia’s rich weaving traditions, Kutnu holds a special place as a shining symbol of Gaziantep’s cultural heritage. Crafted through the masterful blend of silk and cotton threads, this precious fabric—with its vibrant colors, striking patterns, and durable structure—has graced everything from Ottoman palace garments to modern-day designs. Woven traditionally with silk in the warp and cotton in the weft, Kutnu combines luxury with functionality, brought to life through patience and craftsmanship on handlooms. We proudly attended the “In Honor of the Masters” event with our institution's director, administrators, teachers, and master instructors. Our master instructor, Erdal Elbay, was honored with a plaque for his dedication. Following the opening speeches, a documentary screening was held, and plaques were presented to the master artisans who keep this tradition alive.
