Who are the French experts on the EPALE European Platform for Adult Learning?

EPALE (Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe) is a European community dedicated to professionals in adult learning. EPALE experts contribute their know-how and experience in priority areas such as social innovation, digital inclusion, culture, ecological transition, local innovation and civic engagement. They are committed to fostering lifelong learning, promoting inclusion and civic engagement, and strengthening European cooperation.

Sophie Alex-Bacquer - Social Innovation
Sophie Alex-Bacquer began her career as a social worker in a medical-educational institute before taking over the management of a professional integration association. For 20 years, she managed a group of higher education establishments. For the last ten years, she has been designing and running social and educational innovation projects at Croix-Rouge Compétence, the training division of the French Red Cross.
One of its flagship projects is Clichés, a series of reports from professionals working alongside vulnerable groups. Sophie Alex-Bacquer retired in 2025, but remains actively committed to social innovation as an EPALE expert and Red Cross volunteer.
Anne-Charlotte Oriol - Digital Inclusion
Anne-Charlotte Oriol is an independent consultant and doctoral student in sociology.
A political scientist by training (specialising in European studies), Anne-Charlotte is currently carrying out doctoral research in sociology on the deployment of collaborative workshops dedicated to digital fabrication (fab labs) in Seine-Saint-Denis, drawing on STS and cross-cutting feminist analyses.
As a consultant, she draws on both her scientific (social sciences) and professional (public social action policies, project management, fundraising) experience to support civil society organisations, mainly by setting up projects, producing editorial content, writing reports and so on. She is particularly interested in the socio-political issues raised by digital technology, especially in terms of emancipation and the fight against inequality.
Sophie Guénebaut - Culture and European Cooperation
Sophie Guénebaut is a director and administrator of cultural organisations with over 30 years’ experience in the sector. She founded the LABA association in 2013 and the company ALBA International in 2021, two entities that form a centre of expertise in Nouvelle Aquitaine dedicated to European cultural cooperation.
She is a professor at Bordeaux Montaigne University and Science Po Bordeaux, where she teaches in European cooperation project management and cultural enterprises. She has an MBA from HEC Paris, a Master’s degree in Public Law from the Sorbonne and a Master’s degree in Human Resources from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. Sophie has worked to promote European cooperation in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. She specialises in intercultural dialogue and innovation through arts and culture.
Alice Isaac - Ecological Transition
With a degree in sustainable tourism management, Alice Isaac worked in several sectors before co-founding Objective Zero, an agency dedicated to raising awareness of the ecological and social transitions. She runs workshops on the climate and sexism, and promotes a frugal, positive lifestyle.
Vice-president of the Greater Annecy Junior Chamber of Commerce, she is deeply involved in strengthening social ties around environmental issues. She embodies her ecological vision in her everyday life, living in a tiny house, promoting an alternative and sustainable way of life.
Roseline Le Squère - Local Innovation
With a doctorate in sociolinguistics, Roseline Le Squère has conducted research on the relationship between education, training and employment. She is a specialist in adult education, has published in several academic journals and has set up action research initiatives at Université Bretagne Sud.
Roseline Le Squère is currently Director of Research at Université Bretagne Sud. She is involved in European lifelong learning networks, and continues to develop local innovation projects involving citizens and to promote better links between research and society.
David Lopez: Civic Engagement
David Lopez was responsible for the international sector of the Ligue de l’Enseignement and has held key positions in several European training and popular education organisations. He is an expert and consultant for Erasmus+ and is actively involved in international solidarity networks.
He chairs a number of cultural organisations, including the Festival Le Printemps des Rues and the contemporary dance company DeepDawn.
