Building inclusive knowledge spaces for all - the IDEA Toolkit is online

The activities of the Erasmus+ project IDEA – Inclusive Design Empowerment Action aimed to offer an inclusive educational model where creativity, co-design, and digital fabrication become tools for empowerment, professional growth, and social participation — and the journey keeps rolling!
The consortium, led by Fonix and supported by BASE3, Hackability, Fundación Intras, Fundación UVA and European Platform for Rehabilitation (EPR) has just published the Toolkit for Adult Educators: a practical resource designed to help educators working in FabLabs and/or with adult learners to support people with disabilities in becoming digital makers.
This Toolkit stems from a shared conviction: education, creativity, and innovation must be accessible, transformative, and inclusive for all learners — including adults with disabilities. Too often, digital environments and learning spaces such as FabLabs and makerspaces are shaped by assumptions that inadvertently exclude or marginalize people with diverse abilities. The IDEA Project was indeed conceived to bridge this gap, offering an educational model where creativity, co-design, and digital fabrication serve as powerful instruments for empowerment, professional development, and meaningful social participation.
