Map-Guideline of Inclusive Practices (Tinkering in Libraries)

The Map-Guideline of Inclusive Practices is one of the key outputs of the TinkerLib project (2023-1-FR01-KA220-ADU-000160441), funded by the European Union.
TinkerLib brings together libraries and science education organisations from across Europe to explore and co-create more accessible and engaging Tinkering activities for adult learners and undeserved communities. Developed through a process of mutual observations and reflections, the guideline is based on observation grids created and used by project partners to analyse ongoing activities in their countries. The document reflects a shared understanding of inclusion shaped during a dedicated workshop, where partners identified four essential aspects — diversity, equity, belonging, and privilege — as guiding concepts. It served as a foundation for the next phase of the project.
Rather than offering a fixed set of best practices, this tool supports informal educators in reflecting on their own work and encourages a flexible, responsive approach to inclusion. It is intended for both TinkerLib partners and a broader audience of practitioners interested in evolving their methods and creating welcoming learning environments.
