Cath Harcula adds to the series of blog posts exploring adult learning and workforce development, focusing on family learning. The family learning workforce is noted to have struggled to evidence the impact of their work and that it requires an evidence collecting and sharing model to enable the sector to grow. In theory, adult education and lifelong learning empower and encourage the adult individuals to be flexible to learn throughout life, to gain new skills, even maybe choose to walk a new career path for improved competitiveness on the labor market.
Education, training and employment policy-makers as well as individuals have various expectations for career guidance. Career guidance, vocational guidance and guidance counselling are expected to help the individual make meaningful and successful choices, decisions and solutions regarding their career, education and training.
On 4 October the Belgian EPALE support services celebrated World Teachers' Day for the 4th time. The 2019 edition put its focus on outreach and guidance of adult learners. Here you can find a report, pictures and the slides of the presentations.
