Building an inclusive school for all!: European training course on inclusive learning environments 6th Edition

The ‘Building an Inclusive schools for all’ course offers a framework for the further development and promotion of inclusive education, as well as a hands-on experience in the planning of such an approach. Those willing to challenge their mind and to engage in a 5-day course will learn and discover with and from colleagues in an international setting how to move towards inclusive education.

To help potential applicants attend the course EASPD’s Standing Committee on Education can support participants to apply for a Erasmus+ ‘KA1 - Learning Mobility of Individuals’ grant. This grant can be used by individuals or organisations to cover the course fee as well as transport and accommodation costs.

If you would like to receive support to apply for a KA1 Mobility project grant pre-register your interest in the course here before 5th February and indicate your wish for support when requested.

The European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities is a non-profit European umbrella organization, established in 1996, and currently representing over 17,000 social and support services for persons with disabilities. EASPD advocates for effective and high-quality disability-related services in the field of education, employment and individualised support, in line with the UN CRPD principles, which could bring benefits not only to persons with disabilities, but to society as a whole.

Aims and objectives
This training course aims to develop the understanding and expertise of participants on inclusive education for persons with disabilities. The following topics will be covered:
- The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
- The Index for inclusion with exercises
- Universal Design for Learning with examples and exercises
- Curriculum differentiation within a national curriculum
- A school visit to see inclusive education and possible barriers in practice.
- Strategic planning and change management with exercises
- Opportunities for inclusive school assistance

The course consists of both theoretical frames and practical applications and exercises and will suport the development of the following competences: critical thinking, interrogative questioning, expertise in the field, working with different learning methods, dealing with diversity.

Expected (learning) outcomes
The course will provide participants with the tools and knowledge to support the transition towards inclusive education in their role.
Recognition / certification of participation
The course provides a certificate delivered by a European organisation (EASPD)
