Library on Inclusion and Accesibility tools for game design

You will find guidelines and best practices from the 1st part of the Library of the UpGameIn project, on Inclusion, Accesibility and Methodology of each partner

The “UpGameIn- Upskilling of Game Industry for more Inclusive and environmental friendly games” project is an initiative aimed at transforming the game industry by integrating principles of inclusivity, accessibility, and environmental sustainability into game design. Through collaborative workshops, curated resources, and vocational training, UpGameIn empowers game studios, educators, and organizations to create games that not only entertain but also address pressing global challenges outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering cooperation between industry stakeholders and promoting the inclusion of marginalized groups, UpGameIn is shaping a more inclusive, equitable, and environmentally friendly gaming ecosystem for the future

Objectives:

Adapt to the needs of the game industry on creating more inclusive, accessible and environmentally friendly games through a series of co-creation learning training workshops between the partners organisations and a library collection of frameworks, methodologies and guidelines on how to do it.

Adapt VET to those labour needs by creating a guideline for training for vocational “upskilling” of game designers teams.

This guideline will enable the improvement of skills of VET educators on teaching these topics.

Create material (resource library and training etc) by which the experience of partnership will be disseminated to both VET trainers and game industry. The scope is to develop the skills of more game studios and VET organisations on creating more inclusive, equal, accessible games (either for entertainment or education) as well as games that fight climate change and address environmental challenges and hinder behind them the philosophy of circular economy

Create the opportunity to empower inclusion and accessibility of vulnerable or marginalised groups in the field of games

Update Game-Based Learning pedagogy and didactics towards a more inclusive and environmental friendly future

Enable cooperation between educational institutions, NGOs and business

Outcomes/Activities:

Research material about accessibility and inclusivity

Research material about gamification for environmental awareness and circular economy in game industry
