The Dig-Host

Closing the digital gap in non-hotel tourism: The Dig-Host brings training, pilots, and impact events to Europe.

🌍✨ The Dig-Host: rethinking the non-hotel accommodation sector through digital upskilling pathways ✨🌍

The non-hotel accommodation sector has grown enormously in recent years, driven by the search for authentic experiences and the acceleration of digital transformation. However, many operators – often not part of the digital generation – are unprepared to face the new challenges of the market.

👉 This is where The Dig-Host comes in, an Erasmus+ KA210 ADU project aimed at closing the digital gap and making the sector more sustainable through targeted training pathways.

🔑 What the project includes

  • Creation of a Digital Learning Environment (DLE) accessible to all.

  • Development of a digital upskilling pathway with 4 training modules covering: use of OTAs, websites and disintermediation, social media for brand identity, and digital customer care.

  • Piloting tests with real operators in Italy, Germany, and Austria to validate and improve the content.

  • Multiplier events to disseminate results and share opportunities with operators, stakeholders, and associations.

🤝 The partnership

  • B-Plans srls (Italy) – project coordinator.

  • Insecia GmbH (Germany) – technological partner.

  • Bildungshaus Retzhof GmbH (Austria) – adult education center.

🌱 Why it matters

The Dig-Host contributes to:

  • reducing the digital divide in the non-hotel tourism sector;

  • making a key sector for local economies more competitive and sustainable;

  • offering new opportunities to young people, NEETs, and jobseekers;

  • promoting a more digital, green, and resilient tourism, in line with European priorities.

📢 We will soon publish a new post with more details and project contacts. Stay tuned!
