KA2 Smarte Senioren: Making Technology Inclusive for Every Age

The Smarte Senioren project (2022-2-LI01-KA210-ADU-000094079) addresses the critical need for digital skills development across all age groups. In today’s society, it has become nearly impossible to ignore digital technologies and tools, given their increasing importance in communication, healthcare, education, and daily life. However, for many older adults (50+), navigating the digital landscape can be overwhelming —especially for those who lack support within their family circle or broader social networks.
This is where the Smarte Senioren initiative steps in. As part of the Erasmus+ program, this project brought together a network of organizations from Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, and Italy to exchange best practices and learn from one another. The goal was to exchange good practices and create together innovative, inclusive solutions to empower seniors and ensure they are not left behind in the digital era.
The project focused on fostering collaboration between participating countries, enabling them to share resources, strategies, and tools tailored to the unique challenges faced by older adults. This cross-boarder collaboration allowed the participating organisation to improve their provision on the local level with new perspectives deriving from different experiences in different communities and sectors. The project provides older adults with easy to approach materials for learning. The materials are designed with simplicity and clarity in mind, ensuring that seniors can learn at their own pace without feeling overwhelmed.
The Smarte Senioren project allowed partners to establish a strong EU network for long term impact on older adults digital skills. This collaboration serves as a model for addressing digital inequality and highlights the importance of lifelong learning in fostering a more inclusive digital future.
