Gert Biesta - EPALE Community Conference 2023

Why should educators risk themselves in education? How do we preserve the humanism that should be at the heart of education?

Gert Biesta - EPALE Community Conference 2023

Education should never be about adapting to circumstances or gasping and chasing the present. Neither should be just about looking out for the future since our life is here and now, not over there.

Professor Gert Biesta will take us out of our comfort zones by investigating contemporary challenges and possibilities for democracy and education. His strong commitment to defending the integrity of education and the work of educators beyond agendas and good intentions will provide an inspiring point of view.

Why should educators risk themselves in education? How do we preserve the humanism that should be at the heart of education? How do we make education world-centred rather than curriculum-centred?
