PART-Y TOOLKIT to build a Communication Campaign for a Young and Inclusive Placemaking

This toolkit is composed of the Handbook, the Toolbox, and two infographics, four resources created to be used together. 

The HANDBOOK “How to Build an Inclusive Communication Campaign to Promote Placemaking Projects” provides guidelines and recommendations on how to involve young people and educators in the implementation of gender-inclusive placemaking, through communication strategies. It is divided into three parts: 

  1. “Placemaking in 6 Q&A.” This section explores placemaking, explains its history and importance, who benefits from it, and why it is important to involve youth in doing it and to approach it from a gender perspective. 
  2. “For young placemaker: Build your communication campaign.” This section targets young people and provides step-by-step explanations on how to approach and design a communication strategy to carry out placemaking projects. 
  3. “For municipalities and organizations: how to build a communication campaign for youth?” This section targets municipalities, institutions and civil society organizations providing them with guidelines and recommendations on how to build a placemaking communication campaign that targets a young audience and is gender-inclusive. 

The “TOOLBOX To Design Your Communication Campaign” is a collection of references, indications and practical tools that facilitate users in planning and realizing their communication strategies. Here there are resources to go deeper in the subject of inclusivity and gender, recommendations and examples on how to approach people through different communication channels, and templates of specific tools mentioned in the Handbook.

Users will find many cross-references that provide connections between the explanations and guidelines from the Handbook and practical tools, examples and resources from the Toolbox.

The STATIC INFOGRAPHIC addresses young placemakers highlighting the four steps necessary to build a communication campaign. The INFOGRAPHIC VIDEO speaks to municipalities and organizations and presents how to make an inclusive communication campaign on placemaking in four Q&A.

The toolkit is also presented in a second version designed for people with visual or literacy impairment. It contains the same information as the original version but its layout has been adapted to make it more readable.
