Neighbourhood hub handbook

The Neighbourhood hub handbook has been conceived to support the ideation and development of neighborhood hubs by organizations operating in specific urban areas in Europe and abroad.
The handbook has been shaped by the learnings and practical findings of the design and application of the COMENSI project method in five European neighbourhoods in Berlin, Lisbon, Palermo, London and Ljubljana.
The COMENSI project has one of its pillars in the use and innovation of neighbourhood hubs as a form of civic spaces essential in the process of engaging citizens in disfavoured territories and neighbourhoods.
This guide includes also an international benchmark of civic spaces and guidelines on how to set up a neighborhood hub space.
This handbook has been developed within the framework of the project COmmunity ENgagement for Social Inclusion (COMENSI) funded by ERASMUS+ programme (KA2 Adult Education) - National Agency INDIRE and coordinated by the Italian cooperative Bond of Union (https://www.bondofunion.eu/). COMENSI aims to understand why adults who are living with disadvantage in urban areas are underrepresented in participatory processes and to develop appropriate strategies and tools to counteract such issues.
The handbook is available as Open Educational Resources, in English, at this link https://www.community-atlas.net/en/handbook/
