leo.-App: a self test reading and writing for smartphone

Caroline Euringer, researcher at the department Lifelong Learning of the university of Hamburg presented the leo.-App at a peer learning activity last year in Bonn (2015). leo.-App is a free application for the smartphone with which the user, alone or in the safety of a group, tests his or her reading and writing level. With the leo.-App the users do 6 easy reading- and writing exercises. Immediately after this he gets an indication about his reading and writing level.

Awareness raising and international cooperation

De leo.-App is designed with several goals in mind. Individual users can measure really quickly their reading and writing level, but the results of the test can also be used in awareness raising campaigns about (il)literacy. The leo.-App now is only available in English but it can be translated to other languages and can be adapted to other cultures. Interested partners can contact researcher Caroline Euringer: caroline.euringer@uni-hamburg.de

Here you find the text of Caroline's presentation at the peer learning activity and her slides.
