Interactive 3D Virtual Learning Space for Fostering Media and Information Literacy in Adults Over 45

The ALiVE Project addresses the need for upskilling in media and information literacy for adults over 45. Specifically, to provide them with the tools and knowledge they lack to consciously consume media and information, to engage in today’s online media world, and to avoid misinformation and disinformation. This is especially relevant today, as the world is witnessing an unprecedented increase in polarization, hate speech and extremism, challenging human rights and disrupting the solidarity and inclusivity of all groups of people. This group is particularly vulnerable to digital risks, yet they lack access to formal education and are often excluded from media and digital literacy initiatives.
Therefore, the Alive project offers self-paced, immersive learning stations, enriched by the 3D virtual learning experience for adults to experience and learn in a safe environment. The course consists of 6 stations:
- Media World: Understanding, Reflection, and Critical Thinking
- New Challenges of Media and Information Consumption
- Digital Literacy, Mastery of Digital Tools, and Storing Information
- Digital Content Creation
- Security and Safety on the Internet
- Digital Citizenship
