Blended learning in school education: guidelines for the start of the academic year 2020/21

This new publication on blended learning in school education was written by the European Commission in consultation with representatives of ministries of education. It explores the pedagogical opportunities and challenges of a blended learning model and highlights key considerations that policymakers and schools may reflect on when planning to combine in-school and distance learning in their particular contexts.

These key considerations come under the eight areas: school leadership; legislation to support decision-making; the management of in-school and distance learning environments for all learners; the teacher’s role, competences, and working conditions; learner assessment; the well-being of staff and pupils; collaboration and school community; and quality assurance.
