About us
The National Agency for Qualification and Vocational Education and Training (Agência Nacional para a Qualificação e o Ensino Profissional - ANQEP) is a public institute integrated in the indirect administration of the State, with administrative, financial and pedagogical autonomy.ANQEP has joint supervision of the Ministries of Education, and of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Maritime Affairs.
Mission
The mission of the National Agency for Qualification and Vocational Education and Training (ANQEP) is to coordinate the implementation of policies regarding the education and vocational training of young people and adults, as well as to ensure the development and management of the National System for the Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competences.
Main responsibilities
The Agency's main responsibilities are:a. Design and permanently update the National Catalogue of Qualifications, an instrument that regulates non-higher level double certification qualifications;b. Regulate and foster the offer of double certification vocational education and training aimed at young people and adults, the supply of specialised artistic education and the system for the recognition, validation and certification of Competences (RVCC), in the school and professional scope, aimed at adults;c. Promote and guarantee the necessary information and guidance devices, the complementarity and flexibility of the vocational education and training systems and the quality of the aforementioned offers, in articulation with the other entities responsible for these matters;d. Coordinate the design of pathways, curriculum development and specific methodologies for double certification vocational education and training, aimed at young people and adults and for RVCC processes;e. Participate in the development of initial and continuous training standards for teachers, trainers and other professionals involved in the qualification of young people and adults;f. Contribute to the international comparability of qualifications and mobility between vocational education and training systems for young people and adults, through representation and cooperation mechanisms at European and international level.
Work programme
ANQEP’s work programme as Portuguese NSS integrates three work packages:
General implementation of EPALE through:
monitor and support user’s activity;
regularly update the national EPALE page;
support EPALE improvement;
translate content related to the main EPALE activities and other content;
development of activities to increase the number of Portuguese users;
Promotion of the Platform, recruitment and engagement of users by:
a regular dissemination of EPALE content on social media;
dissemination of the main activities carried out by EPALE throughout the years;
regular cooperation with the Erasmus+ National Agency and other stakeholders.
Contribution to the content of EPALE by:
Produce relevant contents in a regular basis;Support users to be more confident to submit content.
National Communication Strategy
Dissemination of EPALE through social networks (EPALE's Facebook among others) and other resources;
Periodic publication of news on the ANQEP website;
Presentation and dissemination of EPALE in adult education and training events;
Content/resources and user contribution for editorial content
Engaging stakeholders in the providing/sharing content to be published in EPALE;
Providing support to multilingualism and translations
Quality control of translations.
