Tools of sustainability and communication for a green and open school - The Εrasmus+ experience

During the period 26/2-9/3/24 18 students of the 1st Esperino EPAL Tavrou (Vocational upper-secondary evening school in Greece, mainly with working adult learners), accompanied by 2 teachers of the school, participated in a training activity in Dresden, Germany, in the framework of Erasmus+. The training activity was about RES and is part of our school's Erasmus+ funded Project, entitled: Tools of sustainability and communication for a green and open school (2023-1-EL01-KA122-VET-000142379).The training took place in English, at the WBS training center and included presentations, practical exercises/experiments on photovoltaic systems, as well as educational visits (such as to a biogas plant, a wastewater treatment plant and a thermoelectric plant with combined use of fuel). Through daily training, students acquired the necessary knowledge and developed skills on RES (central building management BMS, energy upgrade of conventional buildings/facilities, photovoltaic systems). They also came into contact with the German education system and German vocational training through a visit to the Njiumii training centre. At the same time, they became familiar with the use of English and especially technical terminology, improved in the use of computers doing computer work, and had the experience of creating and presenting their work in English via powerpoint.In free time students had the opportunity to get to know Dresden and its culture. It was a special experience, which gave learning and cultural opportunities for our learners (some of which less privileged) who would not be able to have such an experience otherwise.You can see more about our training activity in the following padlet:
