STEM @ school

A STEM @ school project № 2021-1-BG01-KA122-SCH-000030671 (2021-2023) improved the competences of modern teachers - digital skills and media literacy, green skills and soft skills while taking part in two Erasmus+ course( KA 1).
Participating in an "Outdoor education" course at a Bio farm in Italy placed a strong emphasis on first-hand experimentation and learning outside of the comfort zone. The participants were involved in a process of discovery, both individually and in a group with the other participants from Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Spain through a challenging activity in a natural context and in the classroom. The methodology of this training course is highly experienced:
• Starting from direct experience, with a holistic approach - learning is better and deeper when the three H's are involved: Hands, Head and Heart.
• The group as a learning resource - sharing, discussion and feedback.
• Group and personal reflection on experience, dialogue and generation of insights and new ideas.
• Cooperative learning process, discussions and personal study of theoretical external aspects.
• Ability to experiment, simulate and work on projects, design and deliver short outdoor activities in the group and in interaction with a group of children from kindergarten to the farm.
• Learning from feedback and mentoring - the learning process includes moments of review and feedback between the participants and the trainer - sharing of experience. Staying at the base of the farm itself provided an experience in a real environment: VISIT, OBSERVE, INTERACT, PARTICIPATE.
Participants in the course "ICT in the Classroom: Innovative Tools to Facilitate Students Learning, Collaboration and Creativity" were involved in a process of discovery and creativity both individually and in a group with the other participants from Poland, Sweden, Austria and Spain. The course helped participants understand how to:
* Choose and use the right online tools for different educational activities;
* Optimize the extraction process;
* Conduct training control and evaluation;
* Give effective feedback to students;
* Support collaboration and dialogue between students with community tools.
After completing the course, participants feel more confident to incorporate ICT tools into everyday teaching, and this will encourage the creativity and motivation of other teaching professionals as well as students, leading to greater engagement and higher motivation in the classroom process.
In parallel, in 2022, the participants worked in the eTwinning project "My Earth - my home" - an environmental project aimed at developing the green skills of all participants - a new attitude to climate change, environmental protection, recycling.
Students from 3 schools from Bulgaria, Italy and Poland in international teams collaborated and learned together how to solve real problems related to ecology - plastic, smog, cutting down trees, water pollution, climate change, disappearing species, etc.
