It has just been published in Recursos de orientación académica y profesional in TodoFP website the road map of training opportunities in the new Vocational Education and Training

The map presents, in a very graphic and intuitive way, the flexibility of the new VET system, with its division into grades and levels. In all grades there are three levels of professional competence, except in the case of the E grades, in which there are only two levels. In addition to the existing connections, you can see the access requirements in each of the grades and levels and the teaching modalities.

The new VET is divided into five grades:

  • Grades A: Partial and cumulative offer. It gives access to a Partial Accreditation of Skills. Each partial accreditation may include one or more elements of competence of a vocational module included in the Modular Catalogue of Vocational Education and Training.
  • Grades B: Partial and cumulative offer. It gives access to a Certificate of Professional Competence. Each certificate of professional competence corresponds to a professional module included in the Modular Catalogue of Vocational Training. It is possible to obtain a certificate of professional competence, of any of the three possible levels, by accumulation of several partial accreditations (Grade A).
  • Grades C: Partial and cumulative offer. It gives access to a Professional Certificate and is composed of several vocational modules of the Modular Catalogue of Vocational Training. It is possible to obtain a certificate of competence, of any of the three possible levels, by accumulation of several certificates of professional competence (Grade B).
  • Grades D: They constitute the main offer of the Vocational Training System. A Basic Technician (D1), Technician (D2) and/or Higher Technician (D3) degree can be obtained by accumulating several professional certificates (Grade C).
  • Grades E: Courses that complement and deepen professional competencies. They are specialization courses and have two levels. Students can obtain the Specialist Diploma or a Professional Training Master's Diploma. Both diplomas make it easier to enter the labor market and to access university education.

This map is a valuable tool at a time when the government has already taken the final step for the implementation of the new Vocational Training, the FP Dual, in the academic year 2024-2025. Under the new system, Vocational Training students will be trained in the center and in the company from the first year of the training cycle. In addition, all intermediate and higher cycles will have a module on digitalization, one on sustainability and one on entrepreneurship, applied to each professional family. In addition, the incorporation of a technical English module has been approved in all cycles.
