PIMA BULLETIN NO 44 is  a SPECIAL ISSUE ON CONFINTEA, Co-edited by Julia Denholm, Heribert Hinzen, Balázs Németh and Khau Phuoc. This issue is a valuable collection of reflections from internationally respected thinkers, practitioners and researchers in adult learnig and education to reflect upon contexts, follow-up and future perspectives of CONFINTEA VII and its outcome document as the Marrakech Framework for Action. Collecgted papers higlight aspects of the following dimensions:

- Global Orientations.

This PIMA Bulletin allows readers to understand a wider scope of international adult learning and education with choices and limitations of learning and education of adults with a policy orientation from national/regional approaches to a wider intercontinental aspects. The collection of reflections will also help to formulate a rather realistic picture to recognise similarities and differences of ALE so as to claim more comparative work for quality developments in participation and performace in adult learning.
