Empowering Social Entrepreneurs in the Digital Age

New Research and Training tools to build up Social Enterprises and enhance skills for educators, trainers and social entrepreneurs have been launched as DGILANCE4SE Project concludes

The DIGILANCE4SE Project (LeArNing CEnters for Social Entrepreneurs in the Digital Era), funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ KA220 initiative, is pleased to announce the publication of its comprehensive research outputs. These include the DIGILANCE4SE Innovation Book, the Module Handbook, and the e-Learning Platform. Together, these resources form a toolkit designed to promote digital transformation and enhance entrepreneurial skills across Europe.

DIGILANCE4SE addresses critical gaps in traditional education systems, particularly benefiting vulnerable groups. The project developed accessible learning materials and established supportive networks to equip educators, trainers, and aspiring social entrepreneurs with essential entrepreneurial and digital skills, fostering creativity, social inclusion, and sustainable economic growth.

The main objectives were to promote social entrepreneurship through innovative digital tools and methods, enhance entrepreneurial competencies of educators, mentors, and learners, create a structured curriculum, and establish an international network for knowledge exchange and ongoing collaboration.

Over the past three years, the key activities in DIGILANCE4SE included the development of three primary Project Results:

  • the Innovation Book as a methodological guide defining key competencies and best practices;

  • a set of 11 training modules tailored to national contexts, focusing on digital skills and entrepreneurship;

  • the DigiLance4SE e-learning platform, which provided interactive courses, video materials, assessments, and mentorship guidance.

Additional activities involved extensive research on European best practices, a transnational Training of  Trainers event in Slovenia, local pilot training with over 120 learners across partner countries and three international mobility events in Italy, Ireland, and Greece, allowing cross-cultural experiences and practical development of business plans. Follow-up mentoring activities ensured continuous support and refinement of these plans.

All project resources are now freely available in multiple languages on the official DIGILANCE4SE website.
