Industry 5.0 in the healthcare sector is an important global initiative that should be integrated within a people-centered healthcare system. Main goal of Health Quality 5.0 is to provide more patient-centered healthcare techniques which will be supported by a robust health education and lifelong learning system, as well as an upgraded and innovative quality assurance and continuous improvement framework and overall QA approach. 

More specifically, nurses play a key role in health promotion, although some opinions are raising doubts about the efficiency and quality of their education programmes and overall qualifications. In order to tackle such challenges, NVET providers and academic staff must be equipped and provide the necessary knowledge and skills in order to meet the continuous and evolving demands for high quality education and accreditation. For this an improved quality assurance is needed, which aligns with the ongoing needs for lifelong learning and the acquisition of quality qualifications (Melariri, et al., 2022). 

In response to the above statements, the Erasmus+ “BeHealth” project (https://behealthproject.eu/) aims to assist VET and WBL providers offering nursing qualifications in improving the quality of their training programmes and overall practices. Through the project, the partnership will provide NVET institutions and NWBL providers with a comprehensive and practical approach to quality improvement practices through the development and provision of Quality Assurance Frameworks. The target groups will be later accustomed with innovative assessment procedures – the 360-degree control tool, which will be able to evaluate and further review their institutional QA policies and keep it in line with several relevant international and European educational standards adapted in a different context. 

We are now in the process of finalising the QA Frameworks, which will provide the basic principles that should be applied for developing or enhancing a QA strategy for NVET and NWBL organisations providing nursing education in line with the international and EU standards. Later these will be complemented by the 360-degree self-assessment tools, which will work as integrated evaluation tools to check the efficiency of their QA systems.
