Panel discussion: Forward-looking skills

Join the closing panel at the 2025 EPALE Community Conference, to discover how to promote future-oriented skills development.

Panel 2.

In an accelerating world, the European Commission’s Union of Skills initiative sends a clear message: Europe’s strength is rooted in skills development.

But how do we prepare learners for jobs that don't yet exist when confronted with ever-changing scenarios? How should we reimagine the future of learning in this context of constant change? What tools do we have to explore new realms with open eyes, open minds, and an inclusive approach?

This panel discussion will explore how upskilling and reskilling can be complemented with skills anticipation and forecasting, combining different perspectives from institutions, employers and practitioners.  Emphasising the importance of building flexible and adaptive learning systems that anticipate future needs, we will deep-dive into the different facets of learning innovation, strategic foresight, and digital transformation.
