Koperattiva Produtturi taz-Zebbug Limited Erasmus+ Project

Two groups from the Cooperative had an awesome experience in Italy training in regards of the olive sector. Thank you Erasmus+ for this great opportunity !!

The Koperattiva Produtturi taz-Zebbug Limited has undertaken a very beneficial Erasmus+ project whereby 24 members of the Cooperative have undertaken adult training in Italy.  The first group of 12 members were provided with a job shadowing experience on Olive Grove Management in Solopaca for a period of 6 days.  The second group of 12 members were provided with an accredited Olive Oil Tasting Course in San Casciano under the leadership of AIRO.The participants were all amazed with the high level of professional experts that conducted the courses and the Cooperative has received very positive responses both on the Erasmus+ platform as well as to a questionnaire carried out by the Cooperative itself. The Job Shadowing was carried out with the private company Uliveti Castel San Martino which is the owner of more than 12,500 hectares of land with more than 4,000 olive trees.  Its extra virgin olive oil is sold to North Europe countries in niche markets since one of the owners is from Norway. The Olive Oil Tasting Course was carried out with the International Association of Olive Oil Restaurants (AIRO) under the leadership of Dr. Marta Mugelli, President of the Association.  The course included several training sessions and eight sets of practical tests, as part of the evaluation process. The participants have all expressed their full satisfaction to both the thematic content of the training as well for the organizational capacity of the Cooperative that provided full space for participation by all members of the two the two groups.  The Cooperative also managed to organize two cultural tours as part of the training programs, one for each group, and this signifies and confirms the cultural appreciation of the leadership of the Cooperative.
