Creation of online micro-courses for radio production

This micro-course aims to improve student and community radio broadcasting by providing an educational program for radio broadcasters across the Nordics.

This micro-course is the direct result of an Erasmus + project led by Studentradion i Sverige, LAB University of Applied Sciences (Lahti, Finland)  and Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku, Finland). It aims to improve student and community radio broadcasting by providing an educational program for student and community radio broadcasters across the Nordics and Europe.

A cost-effective and efficient tool for radio production training at the disposal of Nordic student and community radios, it covers topics like responsible media production, community engagement and fact-checking. It is thought of as a general introduction on radio production and broadcasting that should tease the students’ curiosity in expanding their knowledge in the field. This course can be used by student and community radio stations to teach their new members who are new to radio broadcasting.

The content used in the micro-course comes from 7 podcasts which were produced by journalism students from Turku University of Applied Sciences:

The micro-course was presented to our target group during a final event in Göteborg, with representatives from 15 student and community radios from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark attending. The goal was two-fold: promote a newly created online micro-course on radio production and strengthen student and community radio in the Nordics. The day was filled with seminars and passionate conversation about radio broadcasting.

You find more information about the project and the micro-course and the final event on our website.
