Blending Culture and Digital Innovation: Experience Exchange and Creative Tutorials for Adult Educators

The Erasmus+ Small Scale Partnerships project “Enlighten, Engage, Empower: Through Culture to Community” brought together partners from Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Portugal to explore how culture and technology can promote inclusion and empower adult learners. Central to the project was an experience exchange between library and cultural professionals, who collaborated to develop and test a set of innovative educational tools.
The project was implemented by the Association of Lithuania’s Regions Libraries (LRBA), “Values, Virtues, Integrity" Foundation from Bulgaria, and IDEAS Association for Culture and Citizenship (Cultiv) from Portugal.
Throughout the partnership, educators exchanged ideas, piloted creative methods in their communities, and co-created nine video tutorials designed to inspire new ways of working with adult learners, especially from socially vulnerable groups.
Each tutorial explores a different approach to combining ethnocultural heritage with digital tools, offering ready-to-use guidance and ideas for educators:
Ethnoculture in a Different Way: Actionbound Cognitive Routes. Discover local culture through interactive mobile quests that engage learners with heritage in a playful, exploratory format.
Creative Mandala Design Workshop with Canva. Use digital drawing tools to explore symbols, patterns, and cultural identity while fostering creativity and relaxation.
Google Expeditions – Digital Preservation and Cultural Heritage. Introduce learners to virtual reality as a way to preserve and visit cultural sites around the world.
Preserving Cultural Heritage with VideoPad. Teach learners to record and edit short videos to document local traditions, crafts, and oral histories.
Creating a Poetry Podcast. Combine spoken word and technology to create podcasts that celebrate local poets, dialects, and community voices.
Developing Digital Skills through Comic Creation. Use Comic Creator tools to encourage storytelling, imagination, and the reinterpretation of cultural tales.
Creating an Exhibition Using Virtual Galleries. Learn how to curate and present cultural content in virtual space, giving visibility to local heritage online.
Engaging Adult Learners with Genially. Build interactive learning materials and cultural quizzes that are both informative and fun.
Exploring Storytelling with Stop Motion. Animate folklore and personal stories using simple stop motion techniques to promote creativity and collaboration.
All video tutorials are available on the project website: www.eeeproject.net, along with additional methodological materials for educators. Each tutorial includes subtitles in all project languages: English, Lithuanian, Bulgarian, and Portuguese.
The project not only produced valuable resources but also fostered meaningful professional exchange, building long-lasting connections and inspiring new approaches to adult education.
We invite you to explore and use the results freely to enrich your educational practices and strengthen your community through culture and digital creativity.
