The EPALE thematic conference "Life Skills in the Focus of Adult Education" took place online on 24 March 2022.

In connection with the overarching theme of life skills, the EPALE and Erasmus+ Conference 2022 presented successful approaches in adult education for imparting reading, writing, and mathematical skills as well as competences related to finance, digital technology, health, civil society, and the environment.

The interactive framework with national and international keynotes as well as idea and networking pools offered the more than 140 participants from 20 countries the opportunity to find out what potential life skills have for adult education and how EPALE can contribute to making these skills accessible to everyone.

The keynotes offered a thematic introduction to the topic of "Life Skills":

• Carin Dániel Ramírez-Schiller (OeAD, Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalisation/ Department Europe, Education, Youth) presented current developments on Erasmus+ and EPALE.
• Estera Možina (Slovenian Institute for Adult Education and EBSN) gave a thematic introduction to the topic "Life skills for adults". → Video
• Impulses from Austria on the conference theme were provided by Elke Beneke (Verein für Bildung und Lernen), Gerhard Bisovsky (Verband Österreichischer Volkshochschulen) and Sonja Muckenhuber (BILL - Institut für Bildungsentwicklung Linz).
• Helen Ryan (National Adult Literacy Agency) spoke about how a cross-government, cross-economic and cross-societal approach in Ireland is improving adult literacy, numeracy and computer skills. → Video

• Curriculum guide of media and information literacy for adults - Introduction and how to use (with Daniel Nübling, Medienkompetenz Team e.V.) → Video
• Basic economic training for European adults (with Peter Dohmen, Westdeutscher Handwerkskammertag)
• RESET: Building Resilience in Basic Education (with Katharina Maly, Verein Orient Express – Beratungs-, Bildungs- & Kulturinitiative für Frauen) → Video

During the Erasmus+ Corner, Arabella Seits (OeAD) presented the new opportunities of Erasmus+ 2021-2027.
