Sharing Global AI Insights with the Adult Learning Community

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape education, work, and society, it becomes increasingly vital for adult learning professionals to stay informed about global trends. The AI Index 2025 Report, published by the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), offers one of the most comprehensive, data-driven assessments of AI’s development and impact to date.

This year's edition covers a wide spectrum of themes relevant to educators, policymakers, and lifelong learners, including:

  • AI's rapid integration into science, medicine, and education

  • Record-breaking investments and the global AI economy

  • Challenges in responsible AI and data governance

  • Shifts in public opinion and the future of AI literacy

  • The widening role of open-source models and global AI contributions

Of particular interest to the EPALE community are the report’s findings on AI in education, including unequal access to computing and AI learning, the preparedness of educators, and the evolving expectations for digital and AI literacy in adult and continuing education.
