Labour market effects of training programmes in the EU: Findings and policy lessons from a meta-analysis

This policy brief presents a meta-analysis of micro-econometric evaluations of training programmes adopted by EU countries during the 1980-2020 period. The sample used in this study comprises 379 estimates of the labour market effects of training programmes that have been extracted from 103 studies. Overall, these programmes are found, on average, to be moderately effective, but their positive impact on labour market outcomes is greater in the longer-term.
