Introduction to adult literacies learning is session 1 of the revised Initial Training in Adult Literacies Learning (ITALL) pack. This aims to introduce the ITALL course and set the national and local context of adult literacies learning in Scotland. It considers the importance of reflective practice for learners and participants, the concept of lifelong learning, the difference between formal, non-formal and informal learning and emphasises the role of evaluation during training.
