Loraine Kavanagh is a lecturer in EFL at Shannon College of Hotel Management. She has supported language learning in the college for many years through initiatives such as a Self-Access Multilingual Multimedia Centre, lunchtime beginner classes for students and staff, a foreign film club and a Facebook page 'Languages at SHCM'. These initiatives have greatly raised the profile and importance of language learning in Shannon College.
