SECOND ACT
Second Act Europe is an Erasmus+ small-scale partnership project aiming to co-develop a transferable European model to support adults aged 45+ in professional transition. Across Europe, longer careers, rapid digitalisation and evolving recruitment practices make career changes more complex for experienced professionals. Many 45+ adults face challenges in adapting to digital job search tools, understanding AI-driven recruitment processes, or maintaining professional visibility in online environments.
The project brings together Efficience (France), specialised in digital inclusion and community-based learning spaces, and a European partner experienced in supporting 45+ jobseekers. Together, the partners will identify and draw inspiration from existing European initiatives, and co-design a structured, human-centred support programme combining recognition of prior experience, digital and AI tools applied to employment, and confidence-building strategies.
In parallel, the project will develop and pilot a dedicated training module for employment counsellors and adult education professionals, enabling them to better support older adults in digitalised labour markets. The methodology and tools will be tested with small pilot groups in each country and consolidated into a practical European guide for replication.
Second Act Europe aims to strengthen digital employability, modernise support practices and promote inclusive lifelong learning for older adults across Europe.
