JOB SHADOWING

I’m the language coordinator for a large French secondary school and also an English teacher.

Our school called Lycée Marie Curie has about 2100 students: 300 in the vocational section, 300 in pre-graduating further education technical diplomas and 1500 for high school properly speaking.

We have very specific training areas like Industrial Forging, Foundry, Tool and Moulds Making, Machining, and Product Designing up to graduating classes. Our students for these classes range 18/22 y.o.

For our younger students (age 15/18), one of our training area is engineering and technological classes (but they also study two foreign languages and other general school subjects).

With a technology teacher, we are applying for a job-shadowing project if possible for September or October 2017 (already funded and approved as a KA1 project via our regional authority having applied as a consortium if going to Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, the UK, Estonia or Lithuania).

We are looking for an upper secondary school or technical college who would accept us for a week in the field of CLIL in technology (for example CNC workshop, mechanical engineering or technology more generally speaking). We don’t teach in the vocational section of our school but the technical one. Our communicating language would be English.

What we expect to find in fine is hopefully a long-lasting partner with whom we could exchange (in real life or virtually by making technological projects together) to increase motivation and learning for our students, and get a better knowledge of each other’s country.
