General and specific objectives

The project aims at reprocessing and systematizing the experience gained during the 2020-21 Covid lockdowns in order to develop educational methodologies for old persons using distance (mostly Internet-based) communication tools. Educators will thus have available additional tools to work with people who can’t benefit from in-person activities for any reason (not necessarily connected to present or future pandemics.)

More specifically, the project, based on a review of the experience gained by the partners during the lockdowns, aims to develop optimal methods to:

- perform online psychological assessment

- perform online cognitive stimulation for persons with mild Alzheimer’s

- support old persons in using distance communication tools to maintain their social relationships

- implement distance educational activities, or make in-person activities usable for person who can’t physically join them

- foster old persons “digital autonomy”

- evaluate outcomes of online activities

Activities

The project would be made up of the following phases:

1) research, based on literature analysis and interviews to expert informants

2) sharing and peer-review of experiments carried out and experience gained during the lockdowns

3) development of optimal approaches through joint design and local experimentation

4) production of guidelines

5) test of guidelines in training courses for adult educators.

The project will also include “multiplicatory events”, i. e. dissemination activities aimed at those interested in using project’s outputs (the guidelines). Those activities can assume the form, of seminars, conferences, etc.
