The Zentrum fir politesch Bildung (Centre for Citizenship Education, ZpB) is an independent foundation that promotes civic engagement by strengthening the understanding of politics, democracy and current societal challenges. Above all it seeks to encourage young people to participate in political life and public discourse. Its work is based on three major pillars:

Learn: The ZpB develops educational material and continuous trainings on current political and social issues as well as didactics. These are aimed at primary and secondary school teachers as well as child care and youth workers.
Understand: The ZpB raises awareness about and strengthens the understanding of democratic processes and societal challenges through workshops, debates, conferences and expositions. Moreover, it provides books and other information material in a specialized library.
Participate: The ZpB organizes competitions and other activities to increase the interest of young people in politics. It supports institutions in the formal and non-formal education sector in the process of setting up or strengthening democratic structures.

Le Zentrum fir politesch Bildung (ZpB) est une fondation qui a pour objet de promouvoir la citoyenneté à travers une meilleure compréhension de la démocratie et des défis sociétaux actuels. Sa mission est d’encourager les enfants et les jeunes en particulier ainsi que la population en général à la participation à la vie et aux débats politiques. Le ZpB est une fondation indépendante qui concentre ses activités autour de trois champs d’action:

Apprendre : Le ZpB élabore du matériel pédagogique sur des sujets politiques et sociétaux et il organise des formations continues thématiques et didactiques pour enseignant(e)s et éducateurs/-trices.
Comprendre : Le ZpB promeut la compréhension de processus démocratiques et des défis sociétaux à travers l’organisation d’ateliers, de débats, de conférences, d’expositions, à travers la réalisation de publications et la mise à disposition de livres dans une bibliothèque spécialisée.
Participer : Le ZpB incite à la participation en organisant des concours et des projets pour encourager les jeunes à s’intéresser à la vie politique. Il accompagne des établissements d’éducation formelle, non formelle et autres dans la mise en place ou le renforcement de structures démocratiques favorisant la participation de tous.

Das Zentrum fir politesch Bildung (ZpB) ist eine Stiftung, die zum Ziel hat, das bürgerschaftliche Engagement zu fördern, indem es zu einem besseren Verständnis von Politik und Demokratie und der aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen beiträgt. Das ZpB möchten vor allem junge Menschen stärken und dazu ermutigen, sich am politischen Leben und am öffentlichen Diskurs zu beteiligen. Das ZpB ist eine von partei- und weltanschaulich gebundenen Organisationen unabhängige Stiftung. Die Tätigkeitsfelder umfassen drei Schwerpunkte:

Lernen : Das ZpB erarbeitet pädagogisches Material zu politischen und gesellschaftlichen Themen. Es richtet sich dabei an Lehrer/-innen der Grund- und Sekundarschulen sowie an Erzieher/-innen. Darüber hinaus bietet es Weiterbildungen an zu aktuellen politischen Themen, aber auch zur Methodik und Didaktik der politischen Bildung.
Verstehen : Das ZpB informiert und sensibilisiert. Dies geschieht durch Workshops, Debatten und andere öffentliche Veranstaltungen. Das ZpB gibt Publikationen heraus und stellt Bücher in einer Fachbibliothek zur Verfügung.
Teilhaben : Das ZpB organisiert Wettbewerbe und andere Projekte, um das Interesse vor allem junger Menschen an der Politik zu steigern. Um deren Partizipationsmöglichkeiten im Alltag zu verbessern, begleitet das ZpB Schulen und andere Einrichtungen bei der Stärkung demokratischer Strukturen.
