Turkish Association of Social Workers

TASW is a professional organization.
The Association, which has 2200 members, serves in the whole country with its Headquarters located in Ankara Province and 22 branches spread to all regions of our Turkey.
The association is an active member of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) network of the world and Europe. In this context we represent our country, organize and participate in international events and represent our country in meetings. TASW is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Network and is still the Vice President of the European Network of Human Rights Commission.
The purpose of TASE is to contribute to the promotion and development of the social work profession, to work to increase the effectiveness of the profession, to carry out the roles and functions of the social workers in accordance with the contemporary social service understanding, To make scientific researches, reviews and publications in the fields and subjects, to form opinions and make suggestions, to protect the rights of social workers and to develop their rights and to maintain unity, solidarity, professional discipline and morality among social workers.
Many congresses, conferences, symposiums, panels, workshops, trainings, etc. organized internationally, nationally and locally in association headquarters and branches. In the year of 2013, The ENSACT Conference was held in Istanbul on April 16-19, 2013 with the main theme of "Social Action in Europe: Participatory Policies and Practices".
