Santarcangelo di Romagna is an historical medieval town with ancient origins, with a population of almost 22,000 inhabitants. Full of history and culture, Santarcangelo is situated on the ancient communication routes of Emilia and Aretina, in the Eastern part of Italy, in Emilia-Romagna Region: less than ten kilometers from the Adriatic coast, very close to Rimini and other important cities of art, mainly Ravenna, Bologna and Urbino.

Staffed with around 60 employees, the Municipality is organized on 2 main Departments (Financial Services and Territorial Department), that manages the following competences: Tax management, Environment, Urban planning, Buiding controls, Social services, Counter for produtive activities, Public education, Demographic Coordination, Culture and Tourism, Youth Policy and Sport. Then, services defining strategical paths for the organisation are in staff to the Mayor: Strategical Planning, Digital Transition and European Policies.
The Municipality of Santarcangelo is also part of a Union of Municipalities, called Valmarecchia Union, to whom it delegates, together with other 9 Municipalities located in the Marecchia Valley, the functions of HR, IT, Welfare, Local Police and Civil protection.
