Limerick and Clare ETB - Further Education and Training Division, PL&D Support Service
The College of Further Education and Training (FET) Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB) every year provides hundreds of full-time and part-time learning pathways across 28 multi-campus College of FET locations and 300+ community sites. With pathways for over 25,000 learners annually, FET empowers people to gain real-world skills for employment, upskill while working, progress to further studies, or explore new skills and interests.
Our Purpose is three-fold; building skills, fostering inclusion and creating pathways. LCETB plays a leading role in the provision of high-quality lifelong education, training and enterprise skills needs. We achieve this by providing caring, effective, innovative, flexible and inclusive pathways for all our students and learners, which are reflective of the diverse needs of our community.
We foster inclusion through our work in partnership with communities and learners from a diverse range of groups across the region including community groups, employers, youth initiatives, prison education, special education, and specific disadvantaged groups to provide a wide range of education and training options.
The Professional Learning and Development (PL&D) Support Service works in collaboration with staff, coordinators, and other stakeholders to identify and organise professional learning opportunities in a range of priority areas. We provide a calendar of events, send out monthly updates, conduct training needs analyses, monitor and evaluate opportunities, provide funding and support, and manage Erasmus + staff projects all with the aim of building a culture of learning within the organisation.
The PL&D Support Service manages 2 Erasmus Plus Staff Mobility projects. These KA1 projects provide exciting and fully funded opportunities for staff members to engage in international professional development experiences.
