Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences is the third-largest University of Applied Sciences in Lithuania with strong academic reputation. The initial target of KVK is an ensuring of high quality of academic teaching and research facilities. The University of Applied Sciences focuses on study programs that lead to a profession. The graduates of the University of Applied Sciences gain professional Bachelor degree. The studies are practice orientated; students are able to successfully apply their knowledge in a real working environment. University is very much orientated towards adult teaching. Training centre for adults have been established and successfully operating since. We have many formal and informal courses for adults already in workplace to increase their skills and help to meet the challenges of modern citizenship. University promotes adult lifelong learning.

Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences has participated in many international and national projects already.  From previous projects KVK has gained experience of creating curriculums and developing new training programmes for various target groups. Blended learning was implemented and tested with target group representatives. KVK is actively using e-learning environments in study process and also during the projects.  University is aiming to train adult educators and lecturers in the 21^st century skill field, therefore many local initiatives took place, such as ‘Digital Literacy Program for Teachers’.

Majority of current projects supports learning, developing new tools and methodologies to allow adult trainers to develop new skills and match job market requirements nowadays.
