FPA Escola D´Adults is a centre for adult education (public, non-profit institution) located in Torrent,a small town very close to Valencia (Spain). 

Our school is based on providing different education levels to meet the adults´ needs of different social backgrounds: local or migrants.

Our main target is to make possible the students increase their education literacy and academic level so that they can better integrate into society, have better possibilities to get a job, or simply improve their skills or knowledge in activities other than the academic ones.

Our school covers different age levels (18-90) and offers numerous possibilities of trainings in various fields. We pay special attention to vulnerable groups (migrants, youngsters, unemployed, elderly or students with special needs). The school offers a large selection of courses according to the students´needs: literacy courses for the elderly, secondary courses for dropout students, preparation courses for vocational school or university entrance exams.

Apart from this, the migrants´ integration is facilitated with make-up and tailored classes and Spanish and Catalan courses so that they can have a better access to the Spanish education system or further education. There are also job training courses and leisure workshops such as foreign languages, drawing, literature, pilates, mindfulness, furniture restoration, design, photography, story telling, etc. The motto of the school is to teach in values of equality and inclusiveness and to contribute to the promotion of culture, participation, socialization, solidarity and cooperation by organizing extracurricular activities, talks and other types of cultural activities that may help develop their personal self-awareness.
