FEDACOVA is the Federation of Food Industries of the Region of Valencia (Spain), bringing together 30 different Food Industries Associations, and more than 2,000 associates representing 70% of the agri-food sector in the Region, including several companies distributed along the whole value chain of the Food Industry (from fishing wholesalers to potted goods manufacturers, retailers and food storage specialists).

Due to the long expertise on this sector, FEDACOVA provides a wide range of services to its associates including training, consultancy (e.g. concerning quality implementation) and support into the expansion of local companies to international markets and food security issues. Additionally, FEDACOVA is strongly involved into communication and dissemination activities and events by attending international trade shows and conferences, organization of sectoral events or production of specific guides and manuals concerning good practices in the food industry (food security and quality control).

During last years FEDACOVA has been involved in European projects with the purpose of supporting the development and internationalization of the Valencian and Spanish Food Industry. Consequently, FEDACOVA accumulates a long experience not only in the food industry but also in the participation and coordination of R&D projects at regional, national and international level (e.g. FEDACOVA was the coordinator of “Open New Food, Open Innovation for New Food Product Development in the European Food Industries”, executed within the Lifelong Learning Programme 2013, Leonardo Transference of Innovation. In addition, FEDACOVA is partner in UPDATEST (Erasmus+ KA2), SERFA (Erasmus+ KA3, RUCAPS (H2020-Marie Curie), TURBO SUDOE (Interreg sudoe), and Civil society projects. Furthermore, FEDACOVA can bring experience to the project concerning sectoral analysis contributing to the specification requirements for the food products development, assessment of the sector needs, organization of sectoral panels and validation of project results in cooperation with associated companies. Moreover, FEDACOVA strongly contributes to dissemination and exploitation activities in the projects they participate at national (Spanish) and European level by organizing workshops and conferences and exploitation of project results.
