OUR MISSION, ETHOS AND VALUES

We are a state-run language school that provides adults and young adults living and/or working in the area with opportunities for learning three modern languages – English, French and/or German. Our course offer ranges levels A1 to C2 of the Common European Framework for Languages. In addition, citizens in need of a nation-wide validated language certification can register to take our official tests. On successful completion of these a certification is awarded, which can then be used as an additional qualification career-wise or in academia. 

We are a motivated team of professionals who sincerely believe in the benefits of collaborative work and sharing our own experiences and expertise. Our approach to learning and education embraces the use of technologies, providing there is always some sound pedagogical rationale behind it.

We cherish diversity in our community and we take pride in fostering respect for everyone: undoubtedly, this generates an open-minded attitude and tolerant atmosphere. We pursue a dynamic approach to learning in school and beyond school. In line with this, our extra-curricular cultural programme is rich and varied throughout the year. We firmly believe in the learning potential of these experiences for people of all ages. 

Lastly, we endeavour to be sustainable in our everyday course of action as a learning community. Our recent project with recycling stations is another stepping-stone to a much greater awareness by all members. 

Our school is in Pozuelo de Alarcón, a town only 12 kilometres north west of the City of Madrid. The school is accessible by bicycle and easily connected to Madrid’s public transportation system - rail, bus and light rail. 

Within our mid-term strategy and plans to get closer to Europe and the EU, we would like to create links and collaborate with similar schools and/or organisations with a focus on how to benefit from mutually sharing knowledge and understanding of innovative educational and learning experiences.
