Our school started its activity in the 1992 we and we currently teach from preschool to secondary school. We also have professional and adult education. We are a modern school that bets on new technologies and is inclusive where each student has their own space.
The School intends to be recognized as a school of reference and excellence, which adapts its practices taking into account the target population, for the quality of education and training provided, for the development of innovative educational practices and for the quality of training responsible, innovative and enterprising citizens.
The students who attend this school mostly reside in São Roque (Funchal), being of them live in the so-called high areas of Funchal. The move to the school takes place by public transport (Funchal timetable), on foot or by public transport own.
The population of the parish that lives in the high areas and social neighborhoods has a quality of medium/low life and it is these children and adolescents who attend this school.
With the objective of meeting the current demands of the job market, giving a more appropriate response to the needs of companies, and of trainees, the school it also offers modular training.
Currently, the school is recognized by the guardianship and the school community as having an identity that has adapted to the new reality of society. In view of the reduction in the number of students, the focus is on professional training and adult training. Curriculum enrichment activities are optional and
eminently playful, formative and cultural. They form part of a broad strategy of articulation between the functioning of the school and the support to the families, ensuring the monitoring of young people before and/or after the daily period of school activities.
Our mission: 
- Provide a quality public service of education and training; 
- Helping young people/adults to become knowledgeable citizens, skills and knowledge that value them individually as human beings; 
- Allowing young people to continue their studies and/or enter the job market and adults; 
- Qualify adults through certification adult education and training courses school and dual certification (EFA); 
- Promote the exchange of experiences, people and training experiences with other entities. 
The school has specialists in several areas, such as educators, teachers, psychologists and technicians in technical areas such as information technology.
The school offers training in digital skills with a relentless drive for innovation and promotion of European values. Our activities include teacher training, promoting digital skills in an educational environment for teachers, students and other staff.
We have teachers from all subject areas such as the arts, sciences, citizenship, history, geography, new technologies and technological education.
We now want to start our Erasmus adventure so that we can share and learn with schools across Europe.
