C.E.PER. Cehel is a public lifelong learning centre of the Andalusian Government. It is situated in the South of Spain, near to Contraviesa and Sierra Nevada Mountains which has been recognized with some awards as: provincial (as the “Job developed in the public education”), regional (Migrations and Antonio Domínguez awards) and national (Miguel Hernández award) or University of Granada award at the IV Migrations Congress.

The 60% of the students are migrants with the necessity of learning a second language. Currently, C.E.PER.  Cehel is developing different educational plans as: Elementary Education for adults, Training for basic qualification “Secondary degree” and other educational plans for encourage an active citizenship.

C.E.PER. Cehel needs to deal with a new citizenship so it has to take measures and innovations: centre organization, educational curriculum, methodological strategies and ways to do this. For example: C.E.PER. Cehel has developed and coordinated elementary education for adults programs specially in adult students literacy with the use of new technologies or innovative learning actions. Spanish language programs for adults with a low level and integration difficulties. Educational programs for adults for the transmission of democratic, social and cultural principles. Colaborative projects between other lifelong learning centres (Grundtvig), training (Innovative Education) and working life (with other institutions). C.E.PER. Cehel collaborated in the Rural Project “In” (European Commission) and collaborated in social susceptibility report in 2007.

C.E.PER. Cehel participated in developing materials as “Aula de Español”, a group of educational resources for teaching the Spanish language in adult centres of Andalusia.
