CEPA Entrevías

“CEPA Entrevías” is a public Adult Education Centre. It's an institution under the Dirección de Área Territorial (DAT) Madrid-Capital dependent on the Ministry of Education of the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid. Our school is located in Madrid, in the neighbourhood of Entrevías, one with the lowest average income in Madrid, and with a school drop-out rate that doubles the average of the capital. For this reason, our school tries to give second chances to all those people from the neighbourhood and surroundings who have decided to enrol the educational system again.
We are an inclusive school open to the neighborhood and educational proposals from various stakeholders within its educational community. We cater to adults (18 years and older, occasionally 17) with priority given to those lacking basic qualifications. According to that, we offer Basic Education that include Initial Education, Adult Secondary Education and Spanish as a Foreign Language. We also offer course for personal development and participation about English, Computer Science, Physical Education, Constitutional and Sociocultural Knowledge Test of Spain (CCSE), Preparation for University Access for individuals over 25 years old and Aula Mentor. Since several years ago we offer also technical and vocational training (VET): the Agro-gardening Vocational Training Program and a course for Preparation for Higher Degree Access.
Our schedule and calendar align with adult learners' needs and regulations. The teaching staff utilizes information and communication technologies throughout the curriculum, fostering activities outlined in our teaching plans. Reading is emphasized as a fundamental educational tool. The curriculum involves understanding research elements and scientific methods through laboratory practices. Outdoor activities promote healthy habits and natural space awareness. Collaboration among different groups within the center is strengthened through regular activities and themed encounters.
Complementary activities are organized for and with the students, sometimes open to the community, focusing on a holistic and cultural educational approach. There's an established guidance and tutorial action plan tailored to each educational program's student profile.
CEPA Entrevías collaborates with other district institutions/entities and engages in educational activities in the center's vicinity. We conduct an annual comprehensive evaluation of teaching-learning processes and teaching practices, proposing improvements through our Annual General Programming.
