Bolu Izzet Baysal Public Education Center and Art School was established in 1961. It is a non-profit public body that provides educational and applied training courses for young adults and older learners who are Turkish citizens or who came to live in Turkey for compulsory reasons that made migration inevitable for them. The courses provided are mainly about technical and vocational education and training and hobbies. There are both day time classes and evening classes. 

          Since this organization is open to people from all strata and these days especially to foreign groups  who migrated Turkey from other countries such as Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Russia and Ukraine. There are Turkish literacy courses to help them socialize and integrate into this society and these courses are of vital importance. Only after do they finish the Turkish course and get the certificate, they can attend the other courses organized by the institution. And the organization provides them with technical and vocational proficiency and skills which help them find job opportunities across the country and also abroad. 

          As concerns to the physical facilities of the school, there are 4 computer laboratories, 5 kitchens, 7 needlecrafts workshops, 3 visual arts workshops, 1 conference hall, 1 library and 1 canteen and a few Turkish literacy classrooms. Some additional classrooms and workshops are opened in different neighbors across the city in order to meet the needs of more people.     The main emphasis is on the practicability of the technical and vocational training. Theoretical outputs are put into practice for real life experience.

          During the year 2017, 1020 courses were opened and 18860 course atteendees graduated from our institution. 310 of these 1020 courses were the ones related to artistic and cultural scopes. 420 courses were the ones relevant to hobbies and personal interests. 250 courses were related to vocational and technical fields. And 140 courses were aimed at helping people with disabilities.

          Our motto is “Education and Training for Everybody; Always and Everywhere” 

          We currently have about 100 teachers and qualified instructors. Turkish and foreign citizens can attend the courses mainly on technical and vocational education and training. The large-scaled school also gives opportunities to the persons who want to broaden their general knowledge  about academic subjects such as mathematics, Turkish, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography logic and philosophy. These academic courses are for those who didn’t graduate from a high school or who are too old to go to a high school.  The course trainees in this category have the opportunity to attend a university. Last year, a lot of our students entered the university entrance exams and they were very successful.  All the technical and vocational courses we provide are applied.
