Agrupamento de Escolas de Soure (AES) is a public school based in the municipality of Soure, in the middle of Portugal. AES promotes children, young and adult education of different levels, with a total of 1442 students and 234 educational staff. It has 156 children from 3 till 5 years old attending kindergarten; 510 children in primary school (6 - 9 years old); around 437 teenagers have between 10 and 14 years old; 250 youngsters are attending high school (15-18 years old). Within the high school we have VET courses (level 4 of the EQF) in the areas of multimedia; catering and mechanics, with 5 different classes. We have around 90 adult students attending different adult education pathways. AES promotes a Qualifica Centre (prior learning recognition centre allowed by the Ministry of Education), that has already attended to more than 400 adults, in the municipality of Soure and surroundings municipalities, and offered them several possibilities of lifelong learning. The Qualifica Centre provides the right choice for adults to get their school or professional diploma, or to continue their lifelong learning.

AES is registered and developing eTwinning projects since 2009. It has 3 projects ongoing and was awarded in 2013, 2015 and 2016 with European Quality Label.

AES belongs to the European network of Eurodesk multipliers which aims to promote Erasmus + programme among young people and relevant stakeholders. Since 2014 has been a local partner of a local NGO, developing youth exchanges funded by Youth in Action program and Erasmus+ program - field of youth.

Our organization has a very solid experience in local and national projects. Since 2018 is developing the "Youth Parliament", promoted by the Portuguese National Parliament; EcoEscolas, an international program of the Foundation for Environmental Education to encourage Environmental Education for Sustainability; Entrepreneurship in Schools, developed by the regional authority to develop entrepreneurship education; has been funded by Fundação Ilídio Pinho (private organization) to promote science projects.
