ADULT SECONDARY SCHOOL - KA1 and KA2 PARTNERS to change practices for adults about Sustainability and against Social Exclusion!
We are a Second Chance School which provides secondary education for adults, who have dropped out school, against social inclusion.
The main purpose of our school is to provide our adult learners through the main fields of education (literary, maths, physics, sociology, enviromental, theatre, information technology, english language), with self-confident, participation and the main skills in order to gain access to the labor market against social inclusion. We have to encourage our adult learners and find techniques which help them to transform and feel more strong so that can take action as productive and participatory citizens, in the Greek society of crisis.
We are located in an urban area at the West Peloponese, just 10km away from Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of Olympic Games and near to Katakolo Port. Our adult learners basically deal with agriculturing, earh, farming and tourism. So we have to improve our techiniques and change ideas in the field of empowerment, in order to enchance their skills and make them more creative, sustainable, strong and productive not only for the labor market but also for their life.
We organised the following projects in the fields of:
Sustainability and agriculturing - Learned permaculure philosophy, planting our own garden with vegetables and collecting seeds.
Photography - Learned photography and ICT techniques creating a tourist guide of our area.
Volunteering - We organised volunteer actions and collected goods offering them to charity organisations.
Constructions - We manufactured the Maquette of our city.
Theatre - We organised theatre perfomances, giving messages about our local culture and traditional.
