Adıyaman Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism is a Public Body. The institution is the representative of Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Adıyaman.  Our institution has got 12 libraries, a museum, two art centers. It has got 113 paid staff .

The institution has missions:

•To search, preserve, promote all the national, historical and touristic values and use all of them as an economical value,

• To organize the tourism sector and cooperate with the private sector related to tourism,

• To cooperate, support and help the local institutions, municipalities, NGOs about their, actions, plans and projects related to tourism and culture,

• To support and cooperate the private theaters, music groups and other cultural organizations both private or public bodies,

• To preserve, protect, renovate or reconstruct the historical monuments and values,

• To promote tourism as a fruitful sector both internationally and domestically, 

• To organize and lead the tourism sector about the new and efficient investments, communicational skills and relationship both abroad and at national level,

• To provide the necessary land, buildings which are essential to the tourism and cultural sectors,

• To advertise all the touristic values in all over the world using all the communicational tools,

Our institution is responsible for all the touristic hotels, restaurants in the province of Adıyaman. We also train and control all the staff related to tourism sector. We organize concerts, theaters, festivals in the province of Adıyaman We also provide support for local NGOs actions and organizations in our cultural centers.

In the province of Adıyaman we have important historical and cultural monuments and they are magnificent touristic attractions. Especially Mount Nemrut is the most important of them as it was recorded as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987, and awarded golden apple by Fijet in 2003.
